Description

Campfire Summer Enrichment Program is a DPH-licensed youth day camp for 45 children ages 5-13 in the city of Waterbury and neighboring towns. The program provides a variety of activities and mentoring throughout the summer. Campers will have the opportunity again this year to select an engaging activity path they will like to participate in throughout the summer.

Furthermore, children in the Campfire Summer Enrichment Program are required to read each day, keep a reading log of books they have completed reading, and engage in academic enrichment programming.  The children also have weekly trips to a local park, pool, and a fun field trip at the end of the week! Campfire Summer Enrichment Program allows children to have a safe, enjoyable, and enriching summer!

The goal of the Campfire Summer Enrichment Program is to provide an enriching, safe, and positive environment for children to decrease the rate of youth engaging in negative behaviors that can affect their livelihood and well-being.

A note from the RMF:

Dear RMF Families,

We hope this message finds you and your family well. We are writing to share an important update regarding our Summer Camp program pricing for the upcoming season.

Since the very beginning of our summer camp program, it has been our priority to keep costs as affordable as possible for our families. That commitment has never changed. However, due to significant increases in operating costs — including Connecticut's minimum wage, transportation, and field trip expenses — we have made the difficult decision to adjust our pricing in order to sustain and continue offering this program for our community.

Effective this summer, the new camp tuition will be:

• Full tuition: $700 per child (7-week program)
• 2nd child (same family): 5% discount — $665
• 3rd child or more (same family): 10% discount — $630

Registration opens April 1, 2026, and a $100 non-refundable deposit per camper is required to secure your child's spot. Payment installments will begin upon registration and must be paid in full by the first day of camp.

We understand that this increase may present a hardship for some families, and we want you to know that we have options available to help:

Flexible payment installment plan — begins at registration, paid in full by the first day of camp
We accept Care4Kids for summer camp enrollment

We are deeply grateful for your continued trust and support of our program. Our goal remains the same: to provide a safe, enriching, and memorable summer experience for every child in our community. We do not take this decision lightly, and we remain committed to making this program accessible to every family we serve.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak with any member of our team — we are here to help.
